Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives are guided by our core values of Accountability, Commitment, Diversity, Innovation and Teamwork. The CSR goal at West Blue Consulting is to create a positive long lasting impact in the communities within which we operate. As an IT firm, we look for innovative ways by which we can bridge the gap between IT and social projects, as our contribution to the development of the country.
We will focus our efforts where our strengths can make the greatest impact, thus having a good sense of responsibility to provide unique opportunities that will make West Blue Consulting known as a source for good in the society.
Our CSR Project: The e-Ananse Library
e-Ananse is a new model of public library, deeply rooted in Ghanaian, black and African culture. Currently offered in three locations in Accra, the e-Ananse libraries seek to revitalise Ghana’s reading and story-telling culture by improving literacy and providing young people access to high-quality, contemporary literature.
The libraries feature an extensive collection of works by African writers, in addition to smart technology hubs giving library members access to a range of online literary resources.
Each library offers a unique combination of print books, state-of-the-art computing facilities, and live literature events, all celebrating Ghana’s pride in its African heritage.
The e-Ananse Libraries are a CSR initiative of West Blue Consulting, a world-class business and IT-consulting and technology firm. The libraries are the realisation of a long-held dream of West Blue’s founder, Ms Valentina Mintah, to provide Ghanaians with culturally-relevant resources that celebrate our African heritage in line with her mantra, “Think Global; Know Local.”
The e-Ananse libraries are a bold new concept in public libraries in Ghana. The libraries have a unique focus on African heritage and identity, both in its design and its contents. The books in the collection are primarily by writers of African descent and the libraries serve as cultural and heritage centres based on our African folklore story telling tradition in which stories come alive. The social aspect of books and reading are integral to our offering.
The e-Ananse libraries also has an iHub, which provides state-of-the-art computer facilities using the newest technology and super-fast WiFi.
